Kansas does have some hills and for the first 19 miles this morning we gained 400 ft , after that we turned right and the next 19 miles was into a head wind along the Kansas Flint Hills,a miserable ride with not one feature worth mentioning.This took us to Cassoday which was guarded by two nasty dogs (imported and trained in Kentucky) we out smarted them and went to the one shop to stock up with drinks and bars as there were no services for the next 40 miles into Newton.There were a lot of cattle in huge fields all looking forward to meeting Mr McDonald ,some even came over to us as we stopped for a break.The 40 miles into Newton was tough because of the wind but we made it and are staying in at Newton Fire Station were we were greeted with sandwiches ,drinks,showers and a place to sleep,we have full use of their facility .We are having a day off tomorrow and hope to sent you a small video.

WELL DONE .LOOKS LIKE THE DROGHEDA 4 THE ELDERLY FUND RAISER WILL BE A 160KM [100 MILES] DROGHEDA MULLINGAR AND BACK ON THE FIRST WEEKEND IN SEPTEMBER .I RECKON WE SHOULD GET SOME CELEBRITY CYCLISTS TO SEE US OF .ANYBODY KNOW 2 GUYS WHO MIGHT DI IT

Hi Dave. Hope you are well we are both reading the blog every day and enjoying hearing about your adventures. Sounds like its going great. Alice starting crawling last week so she’s wrecking the place! I have Skype in the phone so if you want to chat with us and see Alice crawling we can arrange a time.
