Day 48 Jeffrey city to Lander 59 miles

All 4 of us left the very sad looking Jeffery city and the first 18 miles was a gradual climb going through desert and scrub grass flanked by mountains and hills. When we reached Beavers rim the view was spectacular.Frosty climbed a high ridge and took some photos of myself and Gerry descending. The road continued to go downwards towards Lander but the head wind again stopped any real speedy progress, those winds are bloody terrible.10 miles before Lander Wayne had a fall and a passing motorist took him to hospital,we heard this evening that he has a cracked shoulder. We arrived in Lander a little late ,but in time to visit the local bike shop for new tyres.Still have no telephone service and wifi is sometimes difficult.

  1. Hi Dave,
I’m back from London and can now comment. I have seen a lot of your recent territory because my parents live in Colorado. I have been to lovely Fairplay, home to Prunes the Burro! I have to hand it to you guys, the terrrain is BRUTAL! Sorry to hear about your mate’s injury. My brother lives in Portland Oregon if you are passing through. Portland is the equivalent of Holland as far as biking goes-everybody does it!
Let me know if you want his number!
    Take care you guys!
    Debbie
