Day 6 Afton to Lexington 50 miles

What was supposed to be a very picturesque 35 miles along the Blue ridge parkway was rather ruined by the fog and rain, it lashed down for most of the 35 miles as we climbed up and down the parkway reaching 3,200 ft in miserable weather ,glad we had the lights on our bikes which made us visable to motorists. The decent into Vesuvius was very very steep but once we were down the 10 hilly miles into Lexington were at least in improved weather , the sun came out .

  1. It was exactly like that when I cycled there and I ended up getting bit by a spider when I stopped to make some lunch. Keep up the good work!

  2. Tough going lads but no bother to you. The weather isn’t much better here. Safe cycling.

  3. Well done Lads , weather a bit like home, Gerry I hope Dave is not Half Wheeling you on those climbs
