Day 2 Glendale to Bills back garden 54 miles

Lots of heavy traffic and large intersections to deal with and the start of some hills .After finally getting through Mechanicsville and Ashland we decided to press on not really appreciating we had entered a "no food outlet"area , however a friendly passing motorist saw us munching grass and kindly offered to take us to his home and feed us .BIll also offered us place in his riverside garden to camp, which we did .Thank you Bill you saved our bacon !!

  1. Good on ya Lads, i don’t doubt you landed on your feet, charmers like you will get on anywhere.

  2. HI, Cathy

I assume you’re back in Ireland and forwarding the messages skyped or whatever to you – is that right? Do you communicate back to the boys? I just realized from their route map that they’re passing quite close to my brother’s house in a week or so – where I’m sure they could find a hot shower, a soft bed, and probably a meal or two and a beer. Do you know if they have any flexibility in their route for such a detour? Please let me know and I can give specifics and make arrangements.

Meanwhile, I’ll be in IRL from 19th to 23rd of this month; maybe we’ll run into each other.

    Kent.

    • Hi Kent,

Dave and Gerry are loading directly to the blog from there and I’m doing the ‘moderating’ from here. It’s up and running now and Dave has the hang of it. Don’t know how flexible they are but will ask Dave to read your comment. If I don’t see you, enjoy your trip to Ireland.

      Cathy
